This audio class supports you in understanding the particular focus and requirements for your story submission to Inspired Living Publishing’s latest project, Courageous Hearts. Class #3: Language, Flow, and other Self-Editing Basics (42:11 min.)

Once you have your first draft completed, it’s time to edit your story! In this class, we’ll talk about what to look for in your self-editing process, and how you can hone your story so that it says more, not less, of what you want to express.

• Speaking writing: how to find your unique voice on paper
• Setting the right tone
• Telling it like it was: choosing the right words for the task
• Passive vs. active verbs
• Adjectives, adverbs, and other descriptive words and how to use them well
• Streamlining your prose
• The practice of non-attachment in writing
